One day the kingdom of God will be fully realized. It will again be physical and the manifest presence of God will be there. The wrongs and injustices of the world will be made right.
God is at work reestablishing his rule and reign in the world through his people Israel. They fail as the manifestation of his kingdom. God's final move is to send Jesus. In the person of Jesus, the kingdom is present. The kingdom is now and not yet.
God's story continues with what we call "the Fall." In kingdom terms that means there is treason among the subjects. God's reign is rejected for self-rule. All subsequent human kingdoms have some elements both of the ruling initiated in the creation and the brokenness that results from the fall.
God's bigger story gives hope and meaning to life. Here we look at creation -- how God intended the world to be. God's story begins with creation. God established himself as king. His subjects and vice-regents, humans in his image, ruled with him. The kingdom was a physical kingdom and it was good!
