Scott is on sabbatical so we aimed to highlight short thoughts that will help the church remain faithful in public life.
NOTES:
2 Corinthians 11:2-4 For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. (2Co 11:2-4 ESV)
Galatians 1:6-7 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel– 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. (Gal 1:6-7 ESV)
People believe the promises of many lesser gospels: Prosperity, Security, Nationalism, Liberalism, Socialism, and more. We have had several episodes that have highlighted the danger of idolatry or faith in false gospels.
Here is our interviews with Kaitlyn Schiess and Dr. David Koyzis, both about false gospels.
