In this episode, we come right out and ask it — Are you motivated by fear or by hope?

NOTES:

The Bible uses “fear not” 33 times and “do not be afraid” 38 times.

We refer to Jeremiah 29:1-4, 1 Peter 1:1-5, and 1 Peter 1:13-18 as prompts to help us think about fear and hope.

RECAP & TAKEAWAYS:

  • Evaluate your own motivations. Are you driven more by fear or hope?
  • Evaluate your inputs. Are they adding fear or hope to your outlook?
  • Take stock of God’s story of creation, fall, redemption and restoration. Are you believing the hope of the gospel or are you substituting a different story with a different savior?
  • Ask how you can live proactively and be a blessing to your current situation, like Jeremiah 29:5-7 suggests.
